Rockwater Media Ventures

RM Ventures is an associated company to Rockwater Media. It has been launched to specifically provide equity financing for smaller, low-budget film projects.

Our Objectives

We are fully aware of the difficulty that the majority of producers in the UK are having to raise money for their projects. We also know that production costs in general have risen enormously – often without seeing the results of those increases on the screen.

We are also aware that there are some amazing films being created on micro budgets utilising compelling screenplays, fantastic talent and skilled crew!

As a result, in 2026, we are creating a fund to start financing (or part-financing) projects with a maximum contribution of around £250k.

We urge producers to contact us with their ideas!

Criteria

  • A focus on proven genres and formats to maximise the commercial prospects of the programme.
  • A commercial “hook” (e.g. be based on a book, a previous film, a true-life event, a well-known person).
  • An excellent script with limited cast and a small number of locations.
  • Be relatively simple in structure and on screen.
  • Be commercially viable with a defined audience (e.g. cinema, TV, YouTube, TikTok etc.).
  • If a full-length feature intended for a theatrical release, satisfy the conditions to qualify for the AVEC.
